Storm Damage Specialists Of America - SDS USING UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES TO ONBTAIN UNEARNED MONEY

Over a month ago ,I arrived home to find a letter from storm damage of america (in merrillville/crown point) on my door asking me to give them a call concerning my roof. Well I called to see exactly what what they had to say .Tthey made arrangements to meet with me to discuss getting a new roof thru my insurance company .During this appointment we discussed the needed repairs and previous jobs they had done in the past.it was brougt to my attention that they had both good and bad reviews with their business but they always tried to work with everyone. Well I advised them ,that I wasn’t sure this would work in my case. And I had an high deductible and could not afford to pay much out of pocket expense. They stated they would work wth me , well I agreed to do business with them considering they seem to be very agreeable when it comes to my financial situation . unfrtunately neither of us knew what the insurance company would honor at this time.

Then things changed ,the insurance company only gave 5084.00 once the deductible was met ,and I talked to SDS and they said I needed to come up with the 3000.00 ,I said I didn’t have it and I was told that they would talk to their boss. I get a call the following day and they said I could come up with 1500.00 , I advised most companies pay the deductible for the customer ,and maybe I should look for someone to do the job cheaper. At this time I had been quoted 9000.00 the first time, then second quote was 6700.00 for a cover up . I advised I wanted a tear off. I started calling around and realized that several other companies were willing to do the job a lot cheaper ,and after I reviewed my insurance contract , it stated to find a contractor within the cost range given .

I found a contractor that did the job for the cost of what the insurance company distributed . And they came out within three days to complete the job. then I received a call from sds asking if I could come up with 600.00 for a deductible . At this time I HAD ALREADY completed the roof it just made sense to get a complete roof for 5000.00 versus a 6700.00 cover up that SDS wanted to do . LONG STORY SHORT, I went with the company that met my fincial situation. As advised by the insurance company.

Unfortunately , SDS is trying to get 2000.00 from me stating that they supplied a service, only thing they did was an estimate and as it states on their website they give free estimates as do many other companies in this line of business. , im not sure why they are using shyster techniques to RIP consumers off , when what they should do is try to be more competeive with the competition. No one wants to pay three times the price for anything ! and it’s one thing to rip off an insurance company , but I’m sure robbing consumers won’t bring them future clients. The company I did work with was licensed and bonded and did an excellent “complete” job without trying to take me for a ride . I will refer them to others ,but I don’t appreciate the threatening phone calls, and letters from SDS, using bully tactics totry to pursuade consumers to do business with them . don’t try to rob me because I made an obviously wiser choice finacially. No wonder they are so hard up for customers ,bad business practices. Truly disgusted and I will spread the word.

Same thing all Jim of Sds wants I'd rip people off do unprofessional work, not good contractors and rip off insurance companies, would not recommend these people to even shine my shoes

As the President of the company that tricie36 who is actually Dahanna R.Singleton of 8447 Taney Street merrillville Indiana 46410 is trying to discredit.

I am sure that all of you reading to this will agree that there is always 2 sides to a story. in this case there is Dahanna R.Singleton's side which you have read above and what actually happened which is as follows:

Dahanna R. Singleton did not pay her balance for using our service and is currently in collections. She is upset because we have our local attorney prosecuting her for theft of services.

We offer 2 options to all of our customers which Dahanna R.

Singleton clearly understood. I can attest to this because I was present with one of my representatives and clearly explained what her financial obligations would be. After reading the 2 options that we give all of our customers below you will clearly see that Dahanna R. Singleton is not being honest and has in fact failed to pay her bill with us.

Dahanna R.

Singleton's options were as follows:

1. Option 1, enter into a contract for my firm to represent you/her between her insurance carrier with regards to storm damage that was sustained to her property. This involves my company filing a claim on your behalf with the correct date and type of loss, meeting your insurance adjuster, negotiating, and attaining a settlement for you. The fee for this is 25% of whatever settlement that we attain for you.

(Much like an attorney) Dahanna R. Singleton entered into this contract employing my service and clearly understood that she would have to pay us 25% of the settlement that we attained for her.

2. Option 2, Enter into a contract to have my construction company perform all of the work authorized by your insurance carrier. In this case the insurance proceeds that you receive from your insurance company are paid to us and you pay your Deductable.

(Just like a body shop for your automobile except for your home.) Dahanna R. Singleton entered into this contract also. When we got her the settlement from her insurance carrier she decided that she did NOT want: 1. To have our construction company perform the work (as previously agreed in writing) 2.

To pay us 25% for our negotiations with her insurance carrier (also previously agreed in writing.) With regards to her statements about finding a company to meet her financial needs. Please be made aware that consumers can always find companies to sell products for less than other companies. Dahanna R. Singleton should have had one of the other companies that she mentions above, that could meet her financial needs GET HER THE MONEY that she needed to have the work done instead of having my company get it for her and then shopping around to find some other company that could perform the work for less and she would not be in collections right now.

It is unfortunate that from time to time we have customers like Dahanna R. Singleton who: 1. use us to get the money that they need. 2.

do not pay their bills 3. and then try to damage our excellent reputation however. We all know that there are people out in the world who go into stores and steal merchandise from those stores. In this case that Dahanna R.

Singleton is mad because we are prosecuting her and she has to answer to my attorney and The Lake County Courts. On a last note, I would like to thank everyone reading my rebuttal and also to let you know that we help over 1000 homeowners, business's, churches etc., every year attain settlements which are some 574% more than they could have gotten without us (please see the government study on Licensed Public Adjusters) throughout Northwest Indiana. We have also helped 7 large churches in Northwest Indiana attain settlements and also performed the restoration work (which they could not afford.) I would estimate that since we have been in business that we have performed our service for somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 homeowners all located right here in good old NWI. We all know that we can find complaints about any decent size company and we do have some complaints all of which I can prove are from people that I have had to place into collections for Not paying their bills like Dahanna R.

Singleton. I can promise anyone out there reading this that may be contemplating using my service that you can: 1. set an appointment to come to my local office in Merrillville Indian (rt. off O-65) and I will personally show you the Signatures and initials of "The Terms" that Dahanna R.

Singleton clearly agreed to. This along with the contracts and signatures of any and all people that make defaming statements with regards to my service on the Internet who also have NOT paid their bills like Dahanna R. Singleton and are also in collections for the same reason. Once again I would like to say thank you to everyone reading my rebuttal and for your understanding that any large company will have customers that: 1.

Do Not pay their bills. 2. Cannot be made happy. Obviously this is an example of Dahanna R.

Charging a homeowner 25% to negotiate a settlement is ridiculous first off.Second, you shouldnt need to negotiate a settlement, how about proposing the actual amount repairs will be?

You appear to be a crook and companies like yours is the reason that honest homeowners pay ridiculous amounts for insurance and have to jump through hoops to get their claims paid.Probably the reason why your company got a cease letter recently in FL
